Thank Comptroller Franchot and Treasurer Kopp for Rejecting School Funding Cuts

On June 26, Governor Hogan proposed $345 million in cuts to public school funding, endangering the health and success of Maryland’s educators and students. The cuts would have impacted every school system, the Healthy School Facilities Fund, and more.

More than $110 million of these cuts came before the Board of Public Works—consisting of Gov. Hogan, Comptroller Peter Franchot, and Treasurer Nancy Kopp—on Wednesday, July 1. But Comptroller Franchot and Treasurer Kopp took a stand against these dangerous cuts and stopped them. Please take a moment and thank them for standing with educators and students!
